SRECS (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) - Represents the environmental attributes of the power produced from renewable energy products. Customers can buy "green certificates" whether or not they have access to green power through their local utility or a competitive electricity marketer.

Net Metering - A process by which solar generation sources can be interconnected with a transmission system and receive a set rate for its net energy generation. In most cases, inter-connecting to a grid that is "tied" to a local utility company.
